My New Stop on the Way to The Rays Games

Gianni's Authentic New York Pizza is located at 936- 58th Street N. in Tyrone Gardens. This small restaurant has been family owned and operated since 1976. There are numerous tables for dining in, but it seemed that a lot of people picked up their orders. It is very clean and the staff is very friendly. The menu is printed above the cash register and pizza area. Place your order, get your drink and have a seat! They also have a VIP rewards club where you can earn points towards free food. I like this concept and it shows that a restaurant appreciates your repeat business. I will stop there on my way to the games, just because I know I will get something free - very soon!!

While we waited for the food to be prepared, I went to check out the bathrooms. They were very clean. You know how I am about clean bathrooms!

The food did not take long at all. Sam had the 3 cheese calzone; ricotta, mozarella and parmesan and I had the hot Italian hoagie made with salami, capicola, ham and provolone. I ordered it to go because I knew I would only eat half of it and take the other half home. It was perfect, because the dressing was on the side so the sandwich did not get soggy.
A man came in with his three kids and had brilliantly called ahead his order. By the time he got the kids seated and ready to eat, the pizza was ready and brought to the table. I had to give the guy credit for planning ahead! Online ordering is available.
Other menu items include wings, salads, pasta dinners, strombolis, philly steaks as well as desserts! They serve beer and wine and there is also a children's menu with prices ranging from $4.50 to $5.95. Happy hour is daily from 4-6 with $1.00 draft beers. They also have daily lunch specials starting at $4.95 which includes your beverage.

  3. Gianni's is two blocks from my house AND it's the best NY pizza I've ever had outside of NY.
