Tea for Two at T and Me Tea Company

What a quaint hidden gem you will find as you travel down Beach Boulevard South in Gulfport. Located at 2908 1/2 in the "Art Village" is the T and Me Tea Company.

T and Me Tea Company originally started as a full service tea shop in many farmer's markets in the Tampa Bay Area. They sell loose leaf teas as well as tea accessories.

The menu is chock full of fresh items. It was almost hard to believe that such a small place could create and serve delightful dishes. There were several people dining, so you will get to see several menu items. I did not eat all of this food myself, although I would have loved to have done so!
This is the Mango De Leche. sweet rice, fresh mando, sweetened condensed milk and coconut. ($3.25)

Next in the myriad of food choices, is the Fresh Spring Rolls. Vermicelli noodles, cilantro, cucumber, iceberg lettuce, carrot and fresh lemon. ($1.75)

Lisa's breakast bowl includes hash brown potatoes, 2 poached eggs, cheddar or goat cheese and green onion. ($2.75)

Shown next is the chicken quesadilla with chicken, cheese, cilantro and green onion.

Chicken Caesar salad is made with fresh herbs, romaine lettuce and chicken.

Here we have the soup of the day, chicken with dumplings, ($3.50) and a Savory Tiffany Tart, made with Roma tomato, basil, shaved goat cheese, marinated artichoke hearts, zucchini strings and olive oil ($3.75).

Next time you are in Gulfport, stop in for a Frost Tea. This is a fresh brewed tea slushy that you will only find here! Tell them Afternoon Delight sent you!

Ahhhhhhh... the SLYCE of LIFE!

Recently, my husband and I (still getting used to saying that) were trying to figure out what to eat. We were thinking pizza, but I like to eat at the restaurant and he likes to eat on the couch.

After deliberating for well over 15 minutes, we just decided to get in the car and see where it took us! I had mentioned this place on Indian Rocks Beach that was fairly new. He wanted to try another place which we had not been to. We stopped to place an order so that we could pick it up and take it home. I guess my begging and pleading had finally been enough and he agreed to check out the place on the beach. (YAY ME!) We drove to Slyce Pizza Bar and I had to hide my winning grin the whole way there.

When we arrived, I was happily surprised to see a nice place on the beach. I was expecting something completely different. The restaurant was extremely clean, the servers were very friendly and the patrons in there looked happy. I proceeded to make my way to the restroom to check out that area. You know if that area isn't clean, the kitchen probably isn't either. The bathroom was spotless! It is actually a pretty cool space. There is a blacklight, so when you walk in everything is glowing.

The server presented the menu and told us that it was ladies night, so the martinis are $5.00 and Smirnoff and Captain Morgan are half off. The list of martinis sound amazing with yummy sounding cocktails such as the Funky Monkey, Cocoa Raspberry and Creamsicle, although there are more than ten to choose from. (Ladies Day and Night is Thursday!)

The list of pizza types were astonishing. When Karen (oh gosh, I am sorry if I am incorrect with her name) told us that we could do half and half on the pizza, I was elated. With so many differene options, it was hard to choose. We thought about the "Sunburn;" which is hot soprasetta, cajun sausage, hot Italian sausage, pepperjack cheese, jalapenos, spicy green olives, serrano chilies, red chilies and green onions ($21.99) - but it was getting late, so we decided against that. We almost ordered the "Pear A Dice;" olive oil, fresh sliced pear, Gorgonzola and Mozzarella cheeses topped with sliced prosciutto ($21.99). Finally, we ordered a half and half pizza - "Roasted Veggie" and "Meatball Mushroom." The Roasted Veggie is topped with tri-colored peppers, red onions, crimini mushrooms, garlic that have been fire roasted then topped with fresh spinach and Mozzarella ($17.99). The meatball mushroom is sliced meatballs combined with a variety of gourmet mushrooms and Mozzarella ($17.99).

We also ordered a stromboli (pizza dough rolled with Mozzarella and baked to a golden brown [$7.99]) , figuring that we would take part of it home and have it for breakfast. We were delighted when our food was delivered. Presentation IS everything! The pizza is actually on two different levels. It looked fantastic! (Roasted veggie is on top, meatball mushroom is on the bottom.)

The stromboli looked super as well. I wouldn't decide what to pop in my mouth first!

It only took us a few minutes to devour our pizza! Or at least it seemed that way. I was stuffed! Karen came back over with the dessert tray. Oh my!!!! We were both to full to order dessert, but I will definitely be getting something from that tray the next time we go back!

Slyce Pizza Bar is located at 311 Gulf Boulevard; Indian Rocks Beach. They are open Sunday through Thursday 11:00am - 10:30pm and Friday/Saturday 11:00am - 12:00am. In addition, they have a Sunday Brunch serving Belgian waffles, fresh fruit, assorted muffins, specialty breakfast pizza, breakfast parfait and cereal as well as $1.50 Bloody Marys and Mimosas.

When we were leaving, I suggested we walk around the side and see what the outside patio looked like. I wish we would have done that first, as I would have loved that! You could hear the live music from the adjacent restaurant, but it wasn't blaring - it was perfect! There are TV's outside as well. (Oh, I forgot to mention there are a LOT of TV's inside.)

If you want to call and place an order, their number is 727-408-5272.

Where have I been?

Have you missed me?

Someone recently asked me why it has been since September 2011 that I posted about a restaurant. I thought to myself she has to be crazy. There is no way. Well, it is true! I haven’t posted in 5 months!

I have been many places and I have a camera full of pictures! I just haven't written or posted. Sorry...

To bring you to date, I fell in love, got engaged and got married! I planned a wedding and reception in a little over 6 weeks and thought about nothing else! Then of course, there was the honeymoon and adjustment.

But, I am back and more ready than ever to let you know what is out there!
