Nuevo Vallarta in Pinellas Park

One of my favorite ethnic foods is Mexican and I love nothing more than finding new Mexican restaurants with good food.
One of my friends recently told me about Nueva Vallarte Restaurant located at 9359 US Highway 19 N in Pinellas Park. I had a little bit of trouble finding it, but I realized that it is inside the Budget Inn. I was a little apprehensive when we went there thinking to myself, "How good is this going to be?"
The inside is decorated nicely. There are several booths as well as tables and it looks like they could seat a group of about 20 with the tables at the back. The restaurant itself is very clean. The bathrooms are in the motel, so I really can't say anything about them, as they are not part of the restaurant.
The lunch specials are awesome! Every day of the week, they have a different $3.99 special (with drink purchase.) Here are the daily deals:
Monday - Speedy Gonzalez - taco, enchilada and Mexican rice or beans

Tuesday - Beef burrito, Mexican rice and beans
Wednesday - Chicken enchilada, Mexican rice and beans
Thursday - Burrito, taco and Mexican rice
Friday - Burrito special

The lunch prices are very reasonable. The regular lunch prices range from $4.45 to $8.25. Although the only item on the menu for $8.25 was the shrimp fajitas. A taco salad is $5.25, chimichanga $5.95, burrito loco $5.99 and carne asada lunch is $6.95. There is also a children's menu that includes 7 items at the price of $3.99. (kids can even get a burger and fries, grilled cheese or chicken fingers.)

I ordered the Chimichanga Cozumel [grilled shrimp, onions, bell peppers and mushrooms on a flour tortilla that is deep fried and topped with cheese. Served with rice and refried beans. ($6.75)] My friend ordered the burrito loco [The biggest burrito they have. It was stuffed with pork (or ground beef or chicken), refried beans, rice, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, shredded cheese, lettuce and topped with cheese and burrito sauce. ($5.99)]. The chips and salsa were served first and the chips were nice and hot.

As you can see from the photo below, we decided to have a drink. Determining the best value, we opted for the pitcher of margaritas! The regular Vallarta Margarita (featuring Jose Cuervo, Orange liquor, triple sec, orange juice and homemade margarita mix) is $4.95, jumbo is $7.25 and the pitcher is $16.99. They also have several Mexican beers, domestic beers and draft beer as well as soft drinks, sweet tea, unsweet tea, milk, orange juice, jarritos and orchata.

There are also coupons on their website so be sure to print those out! We saved $5.00 on our lunch. SUPER!

Their hours are Monday through Friday 11am - 10pm, Saturday noon -10pm and Sunday noon - 9pm. 727-577-3746
