Numerous Options at the Seminole Family Restaurant

UPDATE ************* RESTAURANT NAME HAS CHANGED *******************

I have recently revisited a place that I used to frequent, but haven't been in quite a while. Seminole Family Restaurant is located at 6864 Seminole Boulevard. I was reminded about this place last week after visiting Melanie Neumann at Tampa Bay Massage Therapy. I left her office and just south about a block is the restaurant. I thought this might be a good place to take my family. This is definitely a basic family restaurant. There is not a lot of atmosphere, but that can be a good thing too!

Since there were four of us, we were able to try several different things. That is one good thing about dining with several people as opposed to dining alone - trying other people's stuff! (Some people do not like that, though, so always ask first!!)

The lunch specials were numerous - in addition to having quite an extensive menu. I would think that there is something on there for everyone. Ranging from burgers, to Pittsburgh Wings (have not had them, but heard they were wonderful) to roast leg of lamb. The daily lunch specials range from $4.95 to $8.95 or you can just get the soup and salad bar for $5.50. There are two soups on the salad bar as well as a range of salad toppings.
There is also a weekend breakfast buffet for $7.95 (or you can include the soup and sald bar for $8.95) and a Monday Mexican buffet for $8.95 which includes horchata (a cinnamon rice beverage.)

The server was slightly unattentive, but it seemed like the other diners were having the same trouble with their waitresses.

Out of the 4 people ordering, two had the open faced sandwich. One was hot roast beef ($6.95) and the other was hot turkey ($6.95). Both were served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The vegetables were seasoned and grilled. Yes, it is a LOT of food!

The other people in the party chose the daily specials. One being the meatloaf dinner (also served with soup or salad, mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables) [$8.95] and the fried fish dinner ($7.95) Instead of mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables, there were other options available.

There are several things on the menu that piqued my curiosity. I intend to go back for the Pittsburgh Steak Salad ($9.95), Pierogies ($7.95) and Nick's Famous Greek Salad Yasou! ($6.25) YOU can call and place your order 727-392-5950 or fax an order to 727-392-4890. They also offer free deliver ($5.00 minimum order within a 5 mile radius.)

The kids menu looked very good and reasonable. For breakfast, there are 5 different options: pancake; chocolate chip pancake; french toast; or 1 egg, pancake, and bacon or sausage - for $2.95 or 1 egg, homefries or grits and toast for $2.65. The lunch menu has 11 different choices ranging from $3.25 for grilled cheese with cup of soup to $4.95 for steak tips over noodles and vegetables with everything from fish, hotdogs, chicken fingers, spaghetti and baked chicken in between!

Seminole Family Restaurant is open 7 days a week.
