Check Out Willie's Hot Spot at The Spot Bar and Grill

Baseball season has started and as you make your way to the Trop to see the Rays, you will also see new buildings and new restaurants. One of them being "The Spot Bar and Grill." Located at 1437 Central Avenue, this is one place you need to hit before of after the game. (Or anytime!)

The menu is burgers, sandwiches, a couple of salads and some appetizers. What more do you need? Beer? Yessir, they got it! The appetizer choices include wings, onion rings, loaded fries, quesadilla, mozarella sticks, jalapeno poppers, shrimp poppers, pierogies and on select days - macaroni and cheese.

We started off by sharing a Spot Salad. The Spot salad is chopped greens, cucumber, chicken, olives, onion, peppers, tomato, black beans, sweet plaintains and queso blanco tossed in a mango vinaigrette.($7.95)

Next up were our sandwiches. I had "Willie's Hot Spot Chicken Sandwich." This sandwich includes breaded chicken breast tossed in spicy buffalo hot sauce topped with jalapeno jack and spicy mayo. ($6.95) My friend had the "Baja Chicken" which is blackened chicken topped with jalapeno jack cheese, guacamole, fresh pico and fried tortilla strips. ($7.95)

And we shared an order of fries! ($2.95)

The hours are Monday through Sunday 11am - 10pm. You can eat in or take out and even call ahead!

Check out their website or visit them on facebook.

And don't forget to get your License To Cheat!
